Fans wore red and yellow — the colors of Spain's flag — and Spanish soccer jerseys, as the players waved and danced from an open-top bus that wound through the city's streets.
Spain's national team, nicknamed La Roja, is celebrating its second World Cup championship. According to FIFA, Spain is the first nation ever to simultaneously hold the federation's World Cup titles in men's and women's soccer.
The Spanish women's national team won the World Cup in 2023; it will defend its title at the FIFA Women's World Cup next year.
