0:52Now PlayingThe PBS family is mourning the passing of one of its own, Sylvia Bugg.
She most recently served as chief programming executive and general manager for general audience programming.
In a statement, PBS CEO Paula Kerger said Bugg helped shape the programming "that defines our service to the American people."
Kerger added that Bugg "will be gratefully remembered for her commitment to ensuring public media's programming reflects a broad range of voices and perspectives."
Bugg was a dedicated and passionate leader, and a staunch supporter of our team at the News Hour.
She died unexpectedly over the weekend at the age of 55.
