YouTube Description
as posted by the channelBoris Johnson and his Conservative Party won a landslide victory in this week's U.K. election, dealing a devastating blow to Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party. The election largely hinged on the issue of Brexit — the country's planned departure from the European Union. As a result, many other issues failed to get the attention they deserved, including the climate crisis, says British journalist George Monbiot. "It's really disappointing that, for the first time, we had some very strong climate and environmental policies in the platforms of several of the major parties," Monbiot says. "You would hardly have known it from the media coverage. It was scarcely touched on."
