16:56Now PlayingDonald Trump has said “we will not go into Syria” live on a TV news show shortly after Sean Spicer went off the rails and mentioned “Holocaust centers” when attempting to refer to concentration camps in a Hitler / Assad comparison. These statements come on the heels of fears that the United States will engage in regime change as it relates to Syria. Bashar Al-Assad has been accused of using chemical weapons on his own people last week in Syria. The U.S. responded with a strategic attack on a Syrian military airbase which has been named as the origin of the chemical attack. Many people in politics and also many civilians in the United States (and abroad) praised this action as they are not fans of Assad. Others say that Assad is actually the good guy. They say he has been cooperating with Russia, China, Iran, and others to defeat ISIS.
At one point, Donald Trump was against any type of attack on Syria, saying that Assad would be better than anything else that would fill a vacuum if Assad was to be ousted. Trump has apparently slightly wavered from his stance due to the alleged chemical attack that happened in Syria which has been blamed on Assad, but at the same time he has stated that “we will not go into Syria” which means there may not be boots on the ground. Rex Tillerson on the other hand, has been talking about regime change in Syria. It’s a big confusing mess that is not made any more clear by a stumbling and bumbling Sean Spicer who attempted to make Assad look worse than Hitler by saying Hitler did not use chemical weapons on his own people. What he meant was the indiscriminate bombing of cities with chemical weapons, but the statement he made without clarification was obviously false due to the historical record of Hitler utilizing gas chambers on Jews in Germany during the war.
