6:51Now PlayingOne reason believers should not take part in Halloween is that, at its core, its theme and message revolve around darkness and witchcraft. Witches and warlocks are servants of the devil. They send demons to those who have open doors. Witches are one of the main themes of Halloween, so to participate in a holiday that centers around that demonic theme is not representing Jesus rightly. It’s engaging in darkness and can be spiritually dangerous.
Participating in Halloween is, in a sense, like accepting an invitation to the enemy’s celebration. As children of light, we are called to shine in the midst of darkness, not to blend in with it or have a mixture of light and darkness.
“For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.”
Ephesians 5:8–11
