Most fusion concepts trap plasma with metal grids. But what if you could create the confinement field purely from electrons?

Robert Bussard's Polywell device arranges superconducting toroids at polyhedral vertices, trapping electrons centrally to form a virtual cathode. Positive ions accelerate inward without touching physical barriers, achieving non-thermal plasma states that eliminate bremsstrahlung losses.

By 2006, the WB-6 produced billions of fusion reactions per second in a 30cm device. Bussard specified optimal reactor size at 4 to 5 meters diameter. The MH370 orbs measure exactly that.
