NHL Star Johnny Gaudreau & brother Matthew tragically killed biking on eve of sister's wedding in NJ

On 8/29/24 at approximately 8pm, Columbus Blue Jackets and former Calgary Flames & Boston College hockey player Johnny Gaudreau, 31, and his 29 year old brother Matthew, were biking along County Route 551 in their NJ hometown when they were struck and killed by a Jeep driven by Sean Higgins, 43, of Woodstown, who allegedly admitted to police that he had consumed 5-6 beers, and failed a field sobriety test. The Gaudreau brothers were in town for their sister's wedding the next day. Higgins has been charged with 2 counts of 2nd degree vehicular homicide, carrying a max of 10 years in prison.
