YouTube Description
as posted by the channelEnrique Delgado-Garcia, 25, of Worcester, was a recruit of the Massachusetts State Police 90th Recruit Training Troop. He entered in April and was scheduled to graduate its Police Academy on October 9th, 2024. Delgado-Garcia started at the academy after spending time as a victim witness advocate for the Worcester County DA's office.
Media was initially told that on 9/12/24, Garcia "became unresponsive in the boxing ring during a defensive tactics training exercise" after suffering a "medical crisis". He was rushed to UMass Memorial Medical Center where he remained on life support until his death on Friday, September 13, 2024. Family members describe his injuries as a severe brain injury, broken teeth, and a broken neck. What really happened to Enrique?
Since his date of death, is has been reported that 99 trainees dropped out of the current state police recruit class and a total of 450 of the 1,476 state police trainees who started at the academy since 2020 have quit: a 30% dropout rate.
Worcester District Attorney Joe Early Jr., who would normally have jurisdiction, said he was looking for an outsider to lead the probe because Delgado-Garcia was formerly his employee. Former prosecutor David Meier has been chosen to lead the investigation.
My research has uncovered 2 eerily similar cases in which "sickle cell trait" was blamed for the tragedies resulting from "The Big Fight"/ "Fight Day":
1. DENVER 1/6/23 -Victor Moses, 28, was a police recruit at the Denver Police Academy. Victor Moses never became a police officer. Instead, he was catastrophically injured and permanently disabled on January 6th, 2023, during the Police Academy’s extremely violent recruit hazing ritual, known to all Denver Police as “Fight Day”. According to his civil lawsuit, Moses had both legs amputated as a result of the barbaric hazing ritual.
2. INDIANA 3/2/23- Asson Hacker, 33, died on March 2 after he participated in what the Evansville Police Department called "routine physical tactics" training at the Southwestern Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. It was called "The Big Fight" and the 7 minute fight was captured on video. Coroner Steve Lockyear listed Hacker's causes of death as "natural" and having been brought on by exertional sickling and sickle cell trait. According to the Korey Stringer Institute at the University of Connecticut, exertional sickling is a condition in which red blood cells change shape during exercise and build up in a person's blood vessels, causing decreased blood flow. Exertional sickling can occur in people who carry the sickle cell trait.
