SC v Jamie Lee Komoroski

Jury selection was scheduled to start today in the Jamie Lee Komoroski trial in South Carolina courtroom, but instead the news broke that she was pleading guilty to all charges in the 4/28/23 DUI crash that took the life of Samantha Miller, 34, on her wedding day. Komoroski, 26, was driving 65 mph in a 25 mph zone at 3x the legal limit when she slammed into a golf cart, killing Miller and seriously injuring her new husband Aric Hutchinson and 2 other passengers in Folly, SC. Judge Deandra Jefferson accepted Komoroski's guilty pleas to driving under the influence, reckless homicide, and DUI causing bodily harm or death, and after heart-wrenching victim impact statements, imposed sentence.

Florida v Sarah Boone

On 10/25/24, after 90 minutes of deliberation, a 6 member jury found defendant Sarah Boone guilty of M*rder in the 2nd Degree, in Judge Michael Kraynick's Orange County, Florida courtroom.

Sarah Boone, 47, was charged with 2nd degree m*rder in the death of her boyfriend Jorge Torres, Jr (42) on February 24, 2020, in their Winter Park, Florida townhome. After a night of drinking, Sarah claims she & Jorge were playing hide & seek when they thought it would be funny to zip Jorge into a suitcase. Sarah claims she thought Jorge would unzip the suitcase and let himself out, and she went upstairs to bed and fell asleep. When she came downstairs the next afternoon, she found Jorge deceased in the suitcase. Video was found on her phone wherein she can be heard taunting Jorge in the suitcase as he was begging to be let out, stating he could not breathe. Sarah claims it was "not intentional" and attempted to have the Judge exclude her audio & videotaped interviews with police, but she was not successful. There was evidence of prior DV allegations by both Boone & Torres against each other. As of today, Sarah is on her 9th lawyer, James Owens. She attempted to use evidence of Battered Spouse Syndrome.
