James Hogg visits an unassuming suburban house in Liverpool, inhabited by a reclusive young hat maker named Anita Green. Inside the house, Anita has created a fantasy world for herself, decorating every corner of the building - even the toilet - to suit her opulent taste. Upstairs, she has converted her attic into an extravagant bedroom, complete with velvet drapes.
Anita writes poetry and short stories, and makes dresses to go with every hat, she believes she could be an accomplished musician. Yet it is not her crafting skills or creativity that Anita feels truly set her apart - it is her supernatural powers. Anita believes that she is an angel, a prophetess and - probably - a goddess.
