6:49Now PlayingIt’s been a harmonious partnership since they met one morning at the end of the war, up in Leicester Square - the busker known as Captain Birdseye (real name Fred) and Fred (real name also Fred).
They’ve been entertaining the crowds ever since with standards, shanties and saucy smiles.
Of course, street performers come and go. Freddie the Count, Cock-a-Doodle-Oo, Clubfoot (“he used to stand on his head on a bottle”), Patsy the Acrobat, Ike the Singer and the Bloke With a Dog all used to ply their trade alongside the Two Freds.
But, tiring voices aside, these two elderly entertainers still undoubtedly have what it takes. There’s still a few songs in them yet.
