15:59Now PlayingDavis Prowse, the towering bodybuilder turned actor, is best known globally as the imposing figure of Darth Vader in Star Wars, and to a generation of British schoolchildren as the Green Cross Code Man. Now, with the sequel to Star Wars in cinemas, he pops into the Pebble Mill studio for a chat with the novellist Jackie Collins about his career to date, The Empire Strikes Back, doing a spot of work for the Krays, and his latest TV show, The Rose Medallion.
Due to an industrial dispute with the BBC, some members of the Musician's Union have taken up residence outside the studio in the Pebble Mill grounds. If you listen very carefully, you might just about be able to make out their brass rendition of Rule, Britannia! during the interview.
Clip taken from Saturday Night at the Mill originally broadcast on BBC One, 28 June, 1980.
