Authorities have announced further restrictions of construction activities and vehicle movements in the city to combat worsening air quality.
According to measurements by Swiss air quality group IQAir, Delhi has surpassed Lahore in Pakistan as the world's most polluted city.
However, Lahore is still experiencing severe air pollution, with schools, universities and parks closed and a lockdown planned, to limit the damage.
