In August 2018, Theresa May promised a ‘new deal’ for social housing and launched a green paper in the aftermath of the Grenfell tower tragedy.
It talked of tackling stigma and rebalancing the relationship between landlord and residents. But two years on, what progress has been made?
Former Grenfell residents are angry. They say they trusted the government to deliver but there’s no evidence of the major reform they were promised and believe reforming social housing is no longer a priority for this government.
