8:51Now PlayingYour Party parliamentary leader Jeremy Corbyn has said the rising number of billionaires is “terrible”.
Speaking to the BBC’s Politics Live, the former Labour Party leader said, “what we are doing is just worshipping billionaires at the expense of the needs of millions.”
Richard Farleigh, the Australian entrepreneur and former dragon on Dragon’s Den, agreed that wealth inequality is terrible but warned that discouraging innovation and wealth will make everyone poorer. He also said that he wouldn’t move to the UK from Australia now, as he did when he was younger, saying the UK tax regime shows “a hatred of success”.
Also discussing the rising numbers of billionaires were Labour MP Polly Billington and Conservative MP Bradley Thomas.
