Trump’s lawyers filed their opposition to the Department of Justice’s Motion for Partial Stay relating to the 100 classified records it obtained during the August 8 search. The DOJ’s motions sought to stay or stop Judge Aileen Cannon’s order to the extent it prevented the government from using the 100 classified records to pursue its criminal investigation and the DOJ said those documents unquestionably should not go before a special master since a former president can’t own classified records. Trump’s lawyers responded by gaslighting that the records “may be declassified” and “may be personal” and that the government’s claim the documents claim are classified government records may not be true, but provided no detail to support this claim.
