He made the comments Wednesday (13 May 2020) on Dublin's SPIN 1038's Fully Charged with Graham and Nathan radio show.
The Academy Award winner, who is currently in Ireland with his wife and three younger children, says he was filming a movie when the country went on lockdown March 27.
Damon says his daughter and her friends have since recovered.
