0:51Now PlayingAerial footage captured the extent of flooding across Michigan’s Midland County on May 20, a day after Edenville Dam burst and communities were inundated with water downstream.
This video gives a birds-eye view of the county, with vast swatches of floodwater visible throughout the area. The uploader, a mask-making company, captioned the footage: “Here is a video of Midland County under water taken today on our flight to deliver masks to northern Michigan customers.”
Local news reported mass evacuations across the county, including the towns of Edenville, Sanford and parts of the city of Midland, which is home to 42,000 people.
The dam breach followed days of heavy rain in Michigan, Illinois and across the Midwest. As of the evening of May 20, no deaths have been reported.
