Brush fires were reported across parts of the San Francisco Bay area and northern California on Monday as heat wave advisories continue across the state.
The region was struck by a series of lightning strikes Monday morning, but officials have not released details on how the blaze started, the KGO-TV report said.
The National Weather Service issued an advisory saying the "prolonged heat event" would continue across the San Francisco Bay Area through Wednesday.
California firefighters are battling destructive wildfires as a lengthening heat wave roasts the state.
