Sep 1, 20201:44Now PlayingThere was a risk of flooding in Oklahoma City, Norman, and surrounding areas early on September 1, the National Weather Service said, after heavy downpours and thunderstorms overnight.
This footage, filmed by Brian Michael, shows lightning in the Norman area. Local reports said 7,200 people in Oklahoma City and 1,200 people in Norman were without power early on September 1.
A tornado warning was also issued for parts of the state.
Heavy rain sparked flash flooding in southern Oklahoma on Tuesday, September 1, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The NWS said some locations reported up to three inches of rainfall an hour Tuesday morning.
A number of roads were closed in the state due to flooding, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
This video shows flooding along the shoulder of Main Street in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, and emergency vehicles blocking the closed road.
