0:36Now PlayingSmoke from wildfires on the West Coast has traveled across the United States, creating hazy conditions in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Tuesday, September 15, local media reported.
Wildfires raging throughout California have burned more than 3.2 million acres since the start of the year, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. There were 25 “major” wildfires burning across California as of Tuesday, and a number of fires in Oregon and surrounding states.
Reports said smoke “suspended” in the atmosphere was pushed across the country by winds. Local media said the smoke won’t “necessarily” impact air quality.
This footage shows the sun subdued by a hazy sky along Interstate 275 in Springdale, a city near Cincinnati. Twitter user @maytriarc told Storyful she filmed the footage shortly after 8 am on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service of Wilmington, Ohio, also shared a photo of the gray sky and muted sun on Tuesday.
Hazy skies were also reported in Washington, Maryland, Virginia, and other eastern states.
