1:06Now PlayingTropical Storm Gamma continued to churn through the southern Gulf of Mexico on Monday, October 5, where it still posed a threat of flooding to the Mexican state of Yucatan after leaving six people dead amid heavy rain over the weekend, reports said.
This footage was shared by SSP Yucatan, Mexico’s Ministry of Public Security based in the state, who said it shows crews working to clear downed trees on Sunday.
Tropical Storm Gamma made landfall near Tulum, Mexico, on October 3, bringing strong winds, rain, landslides, and lashing waves to Mexico’s Gulf coast and the Yucatan Peninsula. The National Hurricane Center said the storm was nearly at hurricane strength when it made landfall, with sustained winds near 70 mph.
