1:42Now PlayingMexico braced for the impact of Hurricane Delta on October 6, right on the heels of Tropical Storm Gamma, which left six people dead amid heavy rain over the weekend.
This clip shows choppy waves and windy conditions in Chabihau, a coastal village on the Yucatan Peninsula.
Tropical Storm Gamma made landfall near Tulum, Mexico, on October 3, bringing strong wind, rain, landslides, and lashing waves.
Delta was approaching the Yucatan as a Category 4 storm, the National Hurricane Center said. It expected an “extremely dangerous” storm surge from the evening of October 6. Dangerous hurricane conditions were looking increasingly likely for Louisiana and Mississippi by the end of the week, the center said.
