1:05Now PlayingAerial footage of a fire in California’s Six Rivers National Forest filmed on October 3 showed smoke rising from the hills around Ruth Lake, as officials reported that the August Complex group of fires has burned 1,003,387 acres.
Widespread evacuation orders remained in place on October 6. The US Forest Service said this footage “shows a slow-moving fire. However, as you probably know by now, conditions can change rapidly … stay vigilant and be ready to leave.”
The August Complex was 54 percent contained as of October 6, Cal Fire said.
