0:56Now PlayingSenate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell met Monday at the Capitol with four newly elected Republican senators as control of the legislative body remains up in the air.
While Democrat Joe Biden has won the White House, control of the U.S. Senate won't likely be decided until January.
That post-election cliff-hanger will determine the balance of power in Washington, as neither party appears to have a lock on a Senate majority right now.
The tally is now 48 Republicans and 48 Democrats, with two Georgia races headed to a Jan. 5 runoff. Two other races in North Carolina and Alaska are still too early to call.
McConnell met with his party's four new senators moments after he said on the Senate floor that President Donald Trump is "100% within his rights" to question election results and consider legal options.
Trump has declined to concede the presidential race and is mounting legal fights, but there has been no indication or evidence of voter irregularities or fraud in the election.
