1:05Now PlayingPrime Minister Boris Johnson on Tuesday said it was "difficult to compute the sorrow" after announcing the UK had surpassed 100,000 deaths from the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking at a news conference in Downing Street, Johnson pledged to commemorate those who have died from the virus once the pandemic is over.
Johnson paid tribute to the "courage" of working people, not only medical staff but also those in the retail, transport and law enforcement sectors.
"We will make sure we learn the lessons and reflect and prepare", the Prime Minister said.
