Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern honored the victims of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake that killed 185 people in Christchurch. The earthquake crumbled many of the buildings in Christchurch’s city center. People were trapped under the rubble and rescuers raced to save them in time. In the end, 185 people died.
"Today we not only mark the loss of 185 lives, but we remember and we celebrate these people – the joy they gave, the memories made, the lives they lived," said Ardern.
