4:22Now PlayingAt least six people were killed in Yangon’s North Okkalapa Township and at least 18 are in critical condition after security forces “opened fire with live rounds” on Wednesday, March 3, Frontier Myanmar reported.
Large crowds of protesters were also sent running as gas was deployed in the area, video shared by Facebook user Htar shows.
The footage also shows crowds fleeing in each direction as police close from either side on one of the city’s main roads. Loud bangs are heard as police close on the intersection. Further video shows the police then follow crowds up the adjoining streets.
At least 16 people were killed in nationwide protests on Wednesday, according to reports.
