1:18:19Now Playing(Mar. 10) Watch live as jury selection continues for a second day in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who is charged with murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd.
Early in the session, defense attorney, Eric Nelson said that the other three officers charged in Floyd's death will not testify for Chauvin's trial.
The trial for former officers J. Alexander Keung, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao is set to begin in August.
A fourth juror was confirmed Wednesday.
Several potential jurors were dismissed Tuesday, including some who said they wouldn't be able to set aside their strong views about the case.
A widely seen bystander video of Floyd's arrest last May recorded his repeated pleas that he couldn't breathe while Chauvin pressed his knee into his neck.
Jury selection is proceeding even as a potential appellate court ruling could halt the trial.
That matter involves the state's desire to add a third-degree murder charge against Chauvin.
The state has asked the Minnesota Court of Appeals to stop proceedings until that's resolved, which could mean a delay of weeks or months.
Floyd was declared dead on May 25 after Chauvin, who is white, pressed his knee against the Black man's neck for about nine minutes.
Floyd's death sparked sometimes violent protests in Minneapolis and beyond, leading to a nationwide reckoning on race.
