1:50Now PlayingVice President Kamala Harris, on her way to tour a vaccination site in Jacksonville, refused to directly comment on the issues arising from an out of control spring break season in Florida, but stressed an overall need for vaccines.
"I'm here to emphasize the importance of vaccinations and getting the vaccine," Harris told reporters at the airport.
A party-ending curfew is in effect in Miami Beach, imposed after fights, gunfire, property destruction and dangerous stampedes broke out among huge crowds of people. The curfew could extend through the end of spring break.
South Florida has been a spring break hot spot in one of the few states fully open during the pandemic.
