"Hollywood needs to really look at itself and hold a mirror up to what it has done," she says.
Especially when it comes to the portrayal of Asian women. "To fetishize women that look like me to objectify women that look like me could very well result in that kind of violence happening to women from this part of the world," Salonga says.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Lea Salonga is the first Asian woman to win a Tony and is a Grammy-nominated singer.
