1:19Now PlayingResidents of Siberia's Sakha-Yakutia region posted videos on social media of red skies and heavy smoke from raging wildfires that have covered dozens of Siberian towns and settlements, temporarily halting operations at airports even for firefighters.
On 3 August, a number of flights from Mirny airport were cancelled because of heavy smoke.
The state agency responsible for fighting forest fires, Avialesookhrana, reported on 843,740 hectares in the Yakutia Republic and 105,279 hectares in the Irkutsk region ravaged by fires.
211 actives wildfires are still ongoing in the territory of Russia, according to Avialesookhrana.
The Russian Defence Ministry reported that military forces were involved in firefighting.
190 members of the military and 80 military vehicles have been brought to the affected regions.
