0:50Now PlayingK-pop band BTS has many titles under its belt including being South Korea's first Grammy-nominated artist as well as international chart toppers.
Now, the band has become a special diplomatic envoy for South Korean President Moon Jae-in.
On Tuesday, BTS was appointed as the "special presidential envoy for future generations and culture" ahead of its visit to the United Nations General Assembly session in New York next week, according to the Presidential Blue House.
Moon thanked BTS for their contribution in boosting South Korea's soft power, and said they have been very "helpful" to him diplomatically, mentioning how heads of the states often bring up the K-pop sensation during conversations.
The band was also given special diplomatic passports at the event, which can be used in airports around the world, according to the Blue House.
