1:54Now PlayingSpaceX will carry the first private, all-civilian crew to orbit aboard its Dragon spacecraft mounted on top of a Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center. The Inspiration4 crew hope to orbit Earth for three days at an altitude of ~360 miles (higher than ISS and well beyond what Branson and Bezos achieved).
The mission will be commanded (and funded) by Shift4 Payments CEO Jared Isaacman. There will be no professional, NASA-trained astronauts onboard. In short: this is the most important, high-stakes private mission to date and represents the biggest potential step forward for commercial space travel.
