Ukraine's 36th Marine Brigade had been maintaining defensive positions at the Azovmash and Zavod Ilyicha factories until it ran out of supplies and ammunition, and made an attempt to break through the Russian forces earlier this week.
The separatists claim they control almost the whole area but small groups of Ukrainian troops might remain. This information couldn't be independently verified.
