as posted by the channelMexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador bragged to President Joe Biden that gasoline is cheaper in his country than in the US, a reference to the soaring fuel prices that are hurting the Democratic Party’s chances of maintaining control of Congress.
During a White House meeting Tuesday, AMLO, as the Mexican president is known, said his government was making it easier for Americans who live close to the southern border to purchase gasoline less expensively in Mexico -- and that lots of US drivers were taking advantage of that proximity.
“While we waited for prices to go down, we have allowed Americans who live close to the border to fill their tanks with gas on the Mexican side at lower prices,” Lopez Obrador said.
