as posted by the channel

Former Malaysian premier Najib Razak will serve a 12-year prison sentence after losing his final appeal in a trial related to the multi-billion dollar 1MDB scandal, marking a change in fortunes for one of the country’s most powerful politicians.

The court ruling prevents Najib, 69, from contesting in the next general elections that must be held by September 2023. He will go down in history as becoming the first prime minister in the Southeast Asian country to be convicted and imprisoned.
