1:15Now PlayingUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday offered qualified praise for the International Atomic Energy Agency's report of its fact-finding mission at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, published earlier in the day.
In his nightly televised address, Zelenskyy praised the document's "clear references" to the presence of Russian troops and military equipment on the premises of Europe's largest plant.
He also called for a more robust mandate for the IAEA and urged the UN agency to explicitly back Kyiv's long-held claim that Russian forces need to withdraw from the plant and its surroundings.
The IAEA report calls for the establishment of a "safety zone" around the plant but stops short of using the term "demilitarisation."
