0:38Now PlayingLike most Fridays, Greta Thunberg biked her way in front of Sweden's parliament where she began her Friday school protests in 2018.
The Swedish Climate Activist is not attending this year's United Nations global summit on climate change, known as COP27.
"If we don't have the public pressure from the outside that we need, the COPs as they are now are not going to lead to anything big," she told AP with a shrug.
She said her decision to remain in Sweden was due to the limited space dedicated to activists: "The civil society this year is extremely limited, and so then I think it's important that those who actually get to go there are the ones who need to be heard."
The Fridays For Future movement posed to take their customary picture, shouting their slogan "What do we want? Climate justice, when do we want it? Now!"
Resolved to continue her battle against climate change, Thunberg said she intended to continue coming weekly, even though climate has gotten less talk in recent years with events such as the global pandemic or the war in Ukraine.
"We can measure how much this has been talked about and how much is mentioned in the media, and of course we've seen a decline since the start of the pandemic. Because we seem to be physically incapable of talking about more than one thing at a time."
COP27 is taking place in the resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt,with US President Joe Biden set to arrive on Friday.
