0:19Now PlayingThe Ukrainian intelligence agency claimed it had destroyed a key Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile defence system in occupied Crimea.
Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence agency released drone footage Wednesday on social media. The post on the official telegram account said, "on August 23, 2023, around 10:00 AM, near the village of Olenivka on the Tarkhankut Peninsula, in temporarily occupied Crimea, an explosion occurred that destroyed the Russian long-range and medium-range air defence missile system S-400 Triumf.”
The Ministry said, as a result of the explosion, the Russian infrastructure, including the missiles mounted on it, had been destroyed.
If confirmed, it would be another embarrassing blow for Moscow, as Ukraine increasingly targets Russia's assets far behind the front line in southern and eastern Ukraine.
