Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump accused South Africa’s government of “treating certain classes of people very, very badly” by confiscating land, which he said constitutes a “massive human rights violation, at a minimum.”
He vowed that the US “won’t stand for it” and would cut off all future funding until a full investigation is completed.
While the South African government said Trump misunderstood the intention of its new Expropriation Act, the furor sparked a selloff of the rand.
