1:24Now PlayingPresident Donald Trump signed legislation to end the longest government shutdown in US history, allowing the government to resume normal operations.
The shutdown had halted food aid to millions of households, canceled thousands of flights, and forced federal workers to go unpaid for more than a month, with effects that could still take days or weeks to fully recover from.
