Iran named Mojtaba Khamenei as its new supreme leader after a "decisive vote" in the Assembly of Experts. President Donald Trump said $100 oil is a "small price to pay" for US and world safety and peace amid a war with Iran that is now in its 10th day.
The war has caused oil prices to surge, with Brent rising as much as 28% to $118.73 a barrel, and has led to attacks and counterattacks between Iran and its adversaries, including Israel and Arab states.
