He created most of the best-known Marvel Comics superheroes, including Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, and Iron Man. Kirby passed away in 1994 but his heirs have been fighting for control of the copyright for the Marvel characters he created. Now that fight just may wind up at the Supreme Court.
