Bitcoin. In recent months, the world's most popular cryptocurrency has been on a roller coaster ride.
Bitcoin's price fluctuates drastically, but at the time of recording this video, it's down roughly 50% from its late-2021 highs. According to a CoinMarketCap article, there are over 80,000 crypto wallets out there now, each holding more than a million dollars in Bitcoin at current prices.
Still, if you bought Bitcoin or other quickly expanding cryptocurrencies like Ether, Solana, or Shiba Inu more than five years ago, you're probably up a lot, in some cases more than 10,000 percent.
Make no mistake: crypto based on Blockchain technology is still in its early stages, and no one knows where it will go. However, Wall Street titans are embracing a variety of currencies, believing that Bitcoin and others will be worth a lot more in a few years.
Then there are some who believe Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will become extinct. Seriously, there are a number of famous people in that group who feel that this trillion-dollar sector of the economy will become extinct.
The fact is that there are several unsolved concerns around cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. The adoption of digital currency by countries throughout the world, as well as government regulation, pose a significant danger to these investments. Only time will tell if all of the cryptocurrency money goes to the moon or ends up in the gutter.
