In remarks commemorating Raúl Castro’s 95th birthday, President and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel vowed to resist any attack from the US with a “determined and firm fight.”
“They intend to build a pretext for military aggression against Cuba based on the ridiculous and pathetic story that this small archipelago, blockaded and impoverished by unilateral coercive measures, is a threat to the national security of the United States,” Díaz-Canel told military and government officials at the event, which also commemorated the 65th anniversary of Cuba’s interior ministry.
“We are still guided by the firm conviction of homeland or death. We will win!”
