"The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU and EEA. The GDPR aims primarily to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU."
There has been a lot of talking lately about GDPR and business have been going crazy over the idea of updating disclaimers and privacy policies.
Companies are reviewing lots of processes that were once set in stone due to the changes that, despite being for EU residents, affect the whole world.
GDPR basically aims to protect data in the world where data is... Indispensable. We are moving further and further away from privacy and people are really starting to realize that.
In this video, I'm going to share why I believe GDPR is BS and how we should start seeing privacy and data protection from now on.
Basically, we shouldn't be blaming companies from gathering data but educating consumers on what they're giving data to and how we can prevent them from giving unwanted data.
