8:06Now PlayingLast night Bernie Sanders drew a crowd of over 27,000 people in Washington Square Park in New York City (With overflow areas it probably topped 30K.) He even beat Obama’s record. Corporate media isn’t interested in these historic numbers. They’re interested in the fact that one of the speakers, Paul Song, called establishment Democrats “corporate whores.” While Bernie himself was quick to denounce these comments, many were quick to assume he was personally calling Hillary Clinton a whore, and therefore sexist. Wes Clark Jr., John Iadarola (ThinkTank), and Jimmy Dore, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
"Bernie Sanders is coming under fire for a campaign surrogate’s description of Hillary Clintonas a “corporate Democratic whore.”
Sanders has disavowed the remark, which was made during a rally in New York Wednesday night, reportedly before he arrived.
"Dr. Song's comment was inappropriate and insensitive," Sanders tweeted on Thursday.
"There's no room for language like that in our political discourse."
The "whore" remark has drawn an outpouring of criticism from Democrats, and a rebuke from the Clinton campaign.”*
