“New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie doesn’t just insist he’s innocent of the whole the Bridgegate scandal — but says scheme was “stupid.”
Christie dismissed the scandal Monday in his first interview since a jury convicted two of his former aides of plotting the George Washington Bridge lane closings in 2013 as revenge against the mayor of Fort Lee.
The plan was “one of the most abjectly stupid things I’ve ever seen,” Christie said on CBS “This Morning.”
“Absolutely stupid on the face,” he added.”
