Why is Trump focused on Kharg Island?
Tiny, very rocky, but also strategically important, 90 per cent of Iran's oil exports pass through it.
Losing control of it would be a major economic blow to Iran, especially now it has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz - removing the competition and driving up oil prices which have now hit $116 per barrel.
In the UK, Prime Minister Keir Starmer held a meeting with energy, shipping and banking bosses to discuss the economic fallout and find ways to protect British citizens from the rising prices.
